THE INCA'S MAY HAVE REALLY BEEN "FULL OF IT" OR ATLEAST ON TOP OF "IT" ( LLAMA DUNG THAT IS )

One of the world's greatest ancient civilisations may have been built on llama droppings, a new study has found. Machu Picchu, the famous Inca city set in the Peruvian Andes, celebrates the centenary of its "'discovery" by the outside world this July. Dignitaries will descend on site for a glitzy event in July marking 100 years since US explorer Hiram Bigham came upon the site, but the origins of Machu Picchu were far less glamorous. According to a study published in archeological review Antiquity, llama droppings provided the basis for the growth of Inca society.

BRITAIN GIVES NOD TO CHRISTIANE LAGARDE FOR TOP IMF POST

Britain has said it is formally backing Christine Lagarde for the job of new head of the International Monetary Fund. The post - one of the most important in global finance - became vacant after the arrest and resignation of Dominique Strauss-Khan over an alleged sexual assault. The support for Madame Lagarde means the Government has formally rejected Gordon Brown as a possible candidate. This report by the BBC's business correspondent Joe Lynam contains some flash photography.

As a wholly owned division of Wal-Mart, Asda is not required to declare quarterly or half-yearly earnings. It submits full accounts to Companies House each October.

GETTING MANGO ON THE MENU AT "CHIPOTLES" 1,000 RESTAURANTS JUST GOT MORE INTERESTING AS OWNER FOCUSES ON ASIAN CUISINE CONCEPT

Chipotle Mexican Grill founder Steve Ells said Wednesday he is developing an Asian fast-casual concept that he expects to debut in mid-2011. Company officials were reluctant to give details on the plan, but said it would follow the Chipotle service format and its focus on “food with integrity” in ingredients, said spokesman Chris Arnold. Arnold said the new concept will be similar in pricing to Chipotle, and that the restaurant will open in one of about 40 existing Chipotle markets. Denver-based Chipotle operates more than 1,000 restaurants nationwide.

UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme was
launched in 1971 with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary research, training, and communications in the field of ecosystem
conservation and the rational use of natural resources.

The MAB Programme is suited to respond to the resuIts of the 1992

Biosphere reserves are areas of terrestrial and coastal marine

MAB Programme.

Biosphere Reserves are much more than just protected areas as they are designed to promote and demonstrate a balanced relationship between people and nature.

They are nominated by national governments and remain under

INDIA PUTS YOGA ON INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT AGENDA

You are being seen less and less on the international circuit. How did you agree to lead a yoga summit in China on such a large scale?

The government of India was keen to showcase yoga in China as a part of its celebration of the 60 years of friendship between the two countries.

I am not keen to travel and teach abroad anymore but this is a significant summit because the two nations have cultural ties that go back thousands of years.
So I agreed.
It would have been tough to handle hundreds of yoga students on my own, so I asked to be allowed to take a team of senior teachers who would assist me.
Slowly this team grew from one to 14 and included senior Iyengar teachers from other countries as well.
And I believe that the numbers of those enrolled are growing by the day.
I see the numbers at around 800 by the time I get there in June.

What exactly will be the agenda of your teaching sessions at Beijing? Will it be aimed only at senior practitioners or novices as well?
