FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 31, 2012 - Ready Pac Foods, Inc. of Irwindale, California is voluntarily recalling, out of an abundance of caution, packaged fruit products containing mangoes, distributed through August 30th 2012, with Use-by Dates as listed below since they contain Daniella Brand mangoes, which have been recalled by supplier Splendid Products, due to potential contamination with Salmonella Braenderup.

Reluctant to reveal information about the recent "Voluntary" mango recall, the Crisis Management spokesperson involved in the Daniella mango recall is letting slip more information with each press release.





The most recent rebuttal by Splendid Products;  in USA Today , (which is conveniently  headquartered in Washington D.C., close to the offices of the Beltway Law firm retained by Larry Nienkirk of Splendid Products) :

First we were informed that the scope of the recall is roughly 100,00 (4kg) cartons out of roughly 2.5 to 3 million cartons shipped by Agricola Daniella.

NEW YORK — A New Jersey produce company recalled a number of products distributed in the Northeast that contained fresh-cut mangoes Saturday because of potential salmonella contamination.



The products in question have an expiration date of Aug. 28, but the company, F&S Produce Co. Inc., working with the Food and Drug Administration, issued the voluntary recall regardless.




No illnesses have been reporting in relation to products from F&S Produce, of Rosenhayn, N.J. Federal health officials are investigating 103 known cases of salmonella infection not related to the recall Saturday.






The measure follows a recall by Splendid Products of five lots of mangoes imported from Mexico. The mangoes carry the Daniella brand sticker. Health officials in the U.S. and Canada are trying to figure out which brands or sources of mangoes caused the illnesses with other products. No deaths have been reported.

August 30, 2012 – FDA is advising consumers not to eat Daniella mangoes distributed by Splendid Products of Burlingame, California because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.  This advice comes after Splendid Products announced a recall of this type of mango on August 29, 2012.

These mangoes were packed in Mexico, distributed by Splendid Products and sold between July 12, 2012 and August 29, 2012 at various stores throughout the United States. The mangoes were sold as individual fruit with the sticker brand “Daniella.”
