Australia to begin Pakistani mango import from next year: HC

September 09, 2012

RECORDER REPORT

The Australian High Commissioner, Peter Heyward has said that Australia will start the import of mango from next year. Speaking at a meeting of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and later taking to newsmen, he said that Pakistani mangoes are of a magnificent quality and taste. He said that Australia is an open market and the Pakistan textile sector should take advantage of the discontinuing of the tariff on textile.

Peter Heyward said that Australia is gradually reducing tariffs on Pakistani goods and textile in order to help Pakistani products to have greater access to Australian market. He said that Australia is interested in importing textile goods and mangoes from Pakistan, which would also act as cultural symbol of the country. Peter Heyward added that a huge demand for textiles and textile products existed in Australia.

COMMENTS FROM DIRECTOR OF WAL-MART GLOBAL FOOD SOURCING (MEXICO) ...

Dear Will:

I imagine that you received thousands of e-mail, here is another asking you questions; Will the National Mango Board (NMB) issue a statement regarding the Daniella Recall?

As far as I understand still is not clear that mangos caused the outbreak in Canada, a less likely in California, however my sales went to the drainage and I am experience big gaps in the shelves until regular Brazil mangos come along.

Please feel free to share any comments or questions

NMB NEEDS NEW LEADERSHIP: THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB IS A WOMAN !!!

By Will Cavan
Executive Director
International Mango Organization (IMO)

www.mangoworldmagazine.blogspot.com

September 08, 2012

Winter Park, Florida -

After being tossed about in the National and International press for the past two weeks, The Mango community needs to ask itself a simple question:

Do we continue with an underfunded mediocre entity run by a good old boy network or is it time to grow some "Stones" and play in the big leagues?

The commodity deserves much better representation than the current administration.

William Watson has outlived any usefulness and it is time for a real leader at the National Mango Board.

There are many capable candidates to run the National Mango Board and the IMO truly feels that the time for change is now if any good is to come out the most recent crisis.

The IMO is convinced that the BEST MAN for the job of Executive Director is a WOMAN !!!

Someone with true leadership skills and seasoned political skills.

Someone say, who has been Secretary of Agr…
