RECORD-BREAKING. THE WORLD's largest mango was harvested in Iligan City. It weighed 3.5 kg. The Mango Museum has a life-sized replica on display.
MANILA, Philippines - The mango is regarded as one of our national symbols and one of the products our country is known for.
In a place in Mandaue City, Cebu, the mango is celebrated. This place is called Profood Gallery where the mango takes center stage.
The Profood Gallery office — it’s the company behind Philippine Brand Dried Mangoes — is nicknamed Mango Museum. Here, they show how the fruit is cultivated and processed. The place is also open to the public and attracts many tourists, especially those who come from countries where the mango is scarce or expensive, like Korea.

The shipping line between the Brazilian city of Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará state, and Cape Verde is due to start operating before the end of this year, the online edition of Brazilian newspaper O Povo reported.
The newspaper said that Paulo André Holanda, the chairman of Ceará port company Companhia Docas do Ceará (CDC), which manages the port of Mucuripe, would travel to Cape Verde on 14 November in order to make the final adjustments needed to open the new route.
Cited by O Povo, Holanda said that the route would likely start operating before December, following a cooperation agreement between CDC and Enapor, the Cape Verdean state port management company, signed in January and the partnership was recently made official.

A potentially destructive Pacific tsunami hit Hawaii Sunday after a powerful earthquake struck off the west coast of Canada, triggering calls for urgent action to protect lives as sirens wailed across the archipelago.
"The tsunami is arriving right now," Gerard Fryer, a senior geophysicist with the center, told reporters. "It is coming in as we speak."
