7TH ANNUAL MANGO FESTIVAL IN TODOS SANTOS






The 7th Annual Mango Festival in Todos Santos is going on right now !!!.... 








Mango season is back, and with it, the yearly event that Todos Santos dedicates to the delicious fruit. 








The 7th Annual Mango Festival will be celebrated in San Ignacio beginning July 31st through August 3rd. 







 The 2014 Festival will include live music and the central theme will be be mangos, from songs and dances to food, dance, music, art and literature. 


 Savor the flavor of the fresh, seasonal, local mangos in a variety of dishes. 



Witness the coronation of the Mango Queen of Todos Santos and enjoy live music.

This year’s program will include cooking demonstrations, and folk dances. There will 18 restaurants showcasing their dishes which will incorporate the delicious mango.

Macaron ikaga desu ka? That was my spiel last Saturday at the Mangoes at the Moana festival in Waikiki.







With my white apron, boxes and boxes of handmade macaron cookies, and my husband at my side, I offered samples to the tourists and locals who attended the Mangoes at the Moana festival at the Moana Surfrider. 





It felt a little like being one of those servers at Costco as festival-goers would descend in waves to try free samples. 






Desserts like macarons are meant to be enjoyed with the eyes as well as the taste buds, so once I had cut and smashed the little chewy cookies into samples, I had woefully destroyed a big part of their appeal, but folks seemed to enjoy them.











Next up for Eric, a sampling of chocolate and vanilla macarons at Rob Fukuzaki’s golf tournament for the Heads Up Youth Foundation that took place this week.

We got some pretty strong reactions to this year's Lay's "Do Us a Flavor" contest chips.

Price: Ranges from $3.79 to $3.79 per bag


What It Really Costs: From what we can tell, no one will like all four flavors so you're going to have at least two unpleasant experiences while taste testing.




You might remember the first time Lay's did the "Do Us a Flavor" contest -- you know, the thing where millions of regular people get to submit ideas for chip flavors and then Lay's picks finalists, makes them, and allows the public to vote for a winner.
