PHILIPPINES : Zambales sports tourism launched in Mango Festival

Iba, Zambales — As the festival hailing the sweetest of all mangoes rolls out in this capital town, the “Dinamulag Fiesta 2015” this week launched the new twist in the province’s campaign to attract tourists through its “Adventure Zambales” sports tourism program.








Why the new tourism slogan Adventure Zambales?



Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. said he wants to show that this province is not just a place where the most delicious mango in the world is grown, but a haven for various adventure sports.

Mango Market News



Mango volume shipped on week ending 4/11/15 was approximately 2,820,832 boxes. 



Compared to the same week last year, volume shipped was approximately 3,530,664 boxes.

Mexico Mango Crop Information



The Mexican season began at the end of January and will run until September with a projection of approximately 39.3 million boxes until6/20/15.


Oaxaca, Chiapas, Michoacán, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Guerrero main varieties until 6/20/15 are Ataulfo(40%),Tommy Atkins (43%), Haden (12%), Kent (4%), Keitt (.01%) and Other (.33%).



EMEX projections for all packinghouses have been posted. North Sinaloa projections are not included.
